The NS World Cup Discussion thread
Sorry, I should have made this before, but I didn't have much time
Anyway, with the WC on its way with the 1-1 draw between South Africa and Mexico, this thread is to discuss everything about it...I'll update it more when I have time, I promise. Until now, this will have to do
On topic, poor showing of Mexico, their defense really sucked, SA was way more than what I expected

Re: The NS World Cup Discussion thread
I just think that Mexico lost it. They are a much better team than that, and that first goal SHOULD have counted. South Africa's goal looked like it could have been off sides to me, but they didn't even replay that one. The refs were on South Africa's side.
I'm glad everything is under way though, great matches to come!

Well I guess you will have to teach me too, because I've played football for about 10 years now and that definitely looked off sides to me. Maybe the rules are not the same though since I don't play in a official league or anything.

From the "Laws of the Game"
A player is in an offside position if he is in his opponents' half of the field and is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the next to last opponent.
In other words, the player has two be behind two opposing players for it to be offside
Watch that play again. Count how many players are closer to the goal line. Only one. The second one, the keeper, is behind Vela. Thus, offside

@Zex
You were right about the call, my bad.
@Saki
It happened so fast that I didn't even notice if he was off or not. But if there was no replay I guess it was good. And it was an amazing goal right in the top corner.

S. Korea beats Greece (Greece made some silly mistakes which really cost them) and Argentina beats Nigeria (Argentina was clearly the better team) Now USA just has to beat England today and I'll be happy.

England proved the usual mindset... that they are just not good enough to win anything.

HAHAHAHA... we laughed so hard... any one of my friends just said "I think they have a pretty decent keeper this year" 5 seconds before it happened...

Well a tie is better than nothing I suppose. Didn't get to see the match because I was at work. Glad Green let that one in though. Hahahaha.

Re: The NS World Cup Discussion thread
yeah was positively surprised by our team today... still they didn't wake up till 10 minutes into the game... and again after half time... against serious opposition that's fatal... also eager to see how the dutch will do this year...

Re: The NS World Cup Discussion thread
Meh. I'm very disappointed by the way Serbia played today. Going into the cup they were playing some great football. I don't know what I was watching today.... -_- If they show up they have a chance against Germany. I admit a very small chance but a chance none the less. (A draw would work too) Then they just have to beat Australia, which I know they can do, and Australia has to beat Ghana.
