As you walk down the street, the townsfolk look at you funny and the children run from you holding their noses. A few people mistake you for janitors and hand you their waste. Most people walk wide of you.
There are all sorts of shops around.

Re: NS RPG thread
The priests in the temple bid you welcome. "Come in and cleanse yourself of your sins," they say. They usher you to the main hall. There are many people here. Some have come for healing, others for prayer. A few people lay on pallets on the side of the temple.
There are priests and clerics walking around doing various things with the people. There are a few connecting hallways with stained glass.

Re: NS RPG thread
as you meander around the temple, priests stop you and ask you what you need. You inquire about the training grounds. They inform you that no such place exists in their temple, but the nearest training hall is down the alley a bit off of market street.

Supplies can be found and purchased on Market Street.
The training hall is sparsely filled. It has a few old weapons on the wall. The hall master asks "What do you want?!" in a gruff voice.

Also goes to market street. There is a nice round shield that looks good with my spear. I'd like to buy it.

*DM NOTE*
Bear with me guys. I am actually setting the system up in a more structured way. -- Actually writing down how i want the system to work.
Soon i will have you actually create character sheets with real meaning. Though i will want to test the tweaked system.

Re: NS RPG thread
Anyway, to explain the new Character sheets, please go to your profile to edit yours.
You have a few new options now,
*The races changed, class has been added.
*Health and Magic are both changeable by the user now.
*Attributes are what your character will level up to make him/her more powerful. I will edit those as needed.
*Equipment got an added column. Bonus is what the weapon adds (possibly subtracts...) from your attack dice roll.
*Items did not change.
*Skills are new. At start you may declare one skill.
To further explain race and class, The 3 races are Human Dwarf and Elf.
Dwarfs are great for fighters and rangers, but do not make good thieves or mages. This is because the Dwarf race is naturally stronger than the other races, and have more resistance to magic, yet are not as nimble or as interested in the ways of magical arts. They are capable of doing such a class, but, they do not excel at them naturally.
Humans are balanced in that they are not stronger or weaker than average. They do however have more luck. They can be any class and do it well.
Elves are quick and nimble of both body and mind. They are great for thieves and mages. They could make decent fighters or rangers, but lack the strength to do as much damage as the other races.
The starting HP for each race is
Dwarf 25 HP
Human 20 HP
Elf 15 HP
The classes are divided into 4.
Fighters are the front lines warriors. Grab a sword and hack away. They will get better weapons and armor than the rest of the classes. They also get an HP bonus.
Rangers are fighters, but from a distance. They have an innate resistance to magic, similar to dwarfs. They prefer to use bows and arrows typically but can use swords when necessary. They won't get as great of armor and will not get any HP bonus.
Rogues are thieves or assassins. They are stealthy and prefer to slice a throat or stab someone in the back than to have a duel. They are required to be quicker than the other classes. A slow thief is a dead thief. They specialize in short swords and daggers. They do not get great armor or an HP bonus.
Mages are wizards of a sort. They will stand in the back and fireball the enemy or heal the other party members. They are the weakest physically and cannot take much damage. It is always handy to have mages around however, as they can heal you and kill and enemy. Mages get a penalty to HP, but get to use magic and declare 3 spells instead of 1 skill.
Attributes are 5. Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Spirit, and Luck.
Strength increases the damage to every hit.
Dexterity increases the number of attack dice which increases chance to hit.
Intelligence is Mage focused as it increases magic damage.
Spirit is resistance to magic, the higher the spirit the less magic damages you.
Luck increases chances for a critical attack or perfect evade. It plays a part in all encounters.
To increases these abilities, you will be awarded exp during quests. You may use this exp to purchase skill points in these attributes. The main attribute of a class gets a cheaper rate. Fighter-STR, Ranger-SPI, Rogue-DEX, Mage-INT. Conversely the antithesis of each class will get an increase to the price, Fighter-INT, Ranger-DEX, Rogue-SPI, Mage-STR.
Races also get bonuses and penalties to the purchase price of the skill points. Dwarfs get cheaper STR and SPI, but higher DEX and INT. Humans only get discount to luck. Elves get a discount to DEX and INT, but increased prices for STR and SPI.
So when you get a Dwarf fighter, he gets "cheap" STR points, discounted SPI, average Luck, increased DEX, and expensive INT.
A Elf rogue would get cheap DEX, discounted INT, average luck, increased STR, and expensive SPI.
A Human Ranger would get discounted SPI and Luck, Average STR and INT, and increased DEX.
The Average price for a level 2 skill point will start at 20 exp, Level 3 skill point will average 40 points, Level 4 60, etc.. cheap is 50% discounted is 75%, Increased is 125% expensive is 150%.
Your equipment should have a name, and then the bonus will be added. The weapons compliment your skills and make it easier to attack. Do not worry about exp for now as that will come with time.
