3DS: 200$ or more ???

So people put your money where your mouth is, do you think the 3DS will be introduced at 200$ or will it cost more ??? Not that it will change anything about the mad sales... but will Nintendo hit that pricing sweet spot ???



Im gonna got with over 200$... I bet those 3D screens aren't that cheap to produce yet... even tough they probably could turn a profit at 200$ they know the initial surge will be huge (or even far beyond that) and that way they can lower the cost at any time...

Well, Nintendo has never had very pricey consoles or handhelds.. I'd say that $249 is the limit.

Just as much as the Wii ? sounds a little high for Nintendo but they know people will pay it... so yeah entirely possible...

I really don't see it being more then the PSP or the Wii... I'd say somewhere in between $150-$200

I'll say it will be anywhere between $180 and $250. With all it is capable to do I can't see it being any cheaper than $180, especially at launch. I would be very surprised if it was over $250 as well. I'm guessing $220 for the initial price, so over 200...

But looking at Nintendo's history, they've been always the cheaper of the competition, and I doubt they'll really put their price at way over $300. They'll stoop down to Atari lynx... or the Sega Gamegear's level.. but hey, it's Nintendo!
I'd wager the debuted price point would be at around $250.

Hmm... I'm going to say probably. I think that Nintendo is going to try to target a $200/£180/€180/¥20,000 price. However, these prices are too close to the DSi XL, so if Nintendo could hit these prices, they would also basically have drop the prices on both DSi's. I do think this would cause Nintendo execs to not like the huge profit loss, though, so it will instead see a price of $250/£220/€250/¥25,000.

Considering how long it took to completely phase out the GBA, the DS will still be around and get releases for it much like the PS2. In that case, and having recently launched new versions of the DSi, they don't want to see this market shrink too quickly, much like dunno001 said.

It will be 250 or even 300. 3d is a premium product right now. glasses less 3d with an analog slider and better than PSP graphics? well it isn't going to price near enough to the DSi to hurt it for a while. The DS isn't going anywhere quickly, and the way the economy might turn again, the 3ds might not gain super majority status for new sales a couple years.

^^ IDK... tonns of people will buy this even if its priced at the same level the wii started at... I know nintendo likes being cheaper than the competition... but with the Wii and the DS they wheren't sure they had a hit on their hands... with the 3DS they are 99% sure to have a hit so they might not price it as competitively...

Seriously speaking I think it can range anywhere from 150-250, with 199.99 being the hot spot. Hopefully this is what happens, since I would love it to be 199.99. Regardless it is day 1 for me, unless it is 299.
