Re: Official Microsoft E3 Thread
I'm really interested to see how "Kinect" and "Move" will do. The casual market already has the Wii and I doubt the will be spending all that money on new consoles/ accessories when they are probably fine with what they have. Of course all Sony/ Microsoft fans calling motion controls "stupid" and such are probably really excited before. I know not everyone said that but many did. These things could either be successful or end up doing really bad.

Re: Official Microsoft E3 Thread
^^ Yeah I really wonder if Sony or MS will try to make their motion control look good for the core crowd or if they think they already have them covered and just want to go after nintendo... but I think it might take another year (maybe more) before devs really have had the time to do that... (I mean really use it.. not just tak the controlls on to a shooter or something)... also if MS bundles it with the arcade for a good price they might be on to something since they could make it pretty cheap and you only need one camera for four players... the PS3 is more expencive as it is and you would need 4 remotes to fully enjoy move just like with the wii... so I don't know what they will try... lots of people expect Nintedo to bring a WiiHD to the market to stop people from upgrading to HD... which is getting more likely now with the new motion controls... so yeah will be interesting to see how it works for everybody...

Kinect looks dumber than I could possibly imagine... Microsoft is finally out of ideas? Even Apple could do a better job.

Halo Reach is going to be game of the year and maybe forever. I'm still mind blown by what I just saw at the end!
Also, since my Elite RROD'd, I'm totally getting that new Xbox in the coming weeks.

Xbox Slim Announced!
Microsoft has officially unveiled the Xbox 360 slim at the end of their E3 media briefing. It’ll have a slimmer design, a hush quiet engine, a 250GB hard-drive, and built in wi-fi 802.11n.
It’s shipping today and will be available at retailers by the end of the week for $299. Hopefully it will rid the Xbox 360’s red ring problems.

ON topic: The 360 slim looks okay, I guess, it looks nice and shiny, but I would prefer it a bit smoother.

I saw 360s for 99€ here... yeah they where refurbished... but most people don't know what that is... was almost tempted to get one for online... new model with wifi and 250 gig sounds good... throw kinatal in there as a bundle and they may have something going....

I read here that there would be a integration between Star Wars and Disney characters with this ambiguous post. >_>
Aw well, I thought this conference was wearisome. Didn't like it. =/

Re: Official Microsoft E3 Thread
Well of course MS is not going after nerds like us... we made up our minds a long time ago...
what really interests them is casual nintendo gamers (yeah in know... stereotype but you know what I mean) who might be looking to upgrade to a second console with HD... thats why many people thought nintendo would bring out a Wii HD... to stop that... from MSs perspective I think they are doing pretty good...
that jumping raft game and the dancing and stuff shows that you can use your complete body with kinataletic (whatever they are going with)... this seprates them from Nintendo (and Sonys complete rippoff of the Wiimote)... also the dancing game and cat game are clearly aimed at female gamers, a previously very untapped market in HD gaming...
the only thing they need now is a good price point... a cheap 360 bundled with natal for 200$-250$ might actually have nintendo work for their money for once (not saying it will work)... and many of those people who own a Wii and are thinking of getting a HD conole are likely to go with the new gadget rather than the sonymote that is pretty much old news...
also I think these new motion controls don't have to play off short term as long as companies learn what works with motion controll and what doesn't... that way when the next gen comes around they know what works and they can have devs make games ahead of time that are good... making it harder for nintendo to have a headstart on them again...

I can't believe this thing launches this week. I was going to upgrade my hard drive for my current 360 but for only double the price I could just get a whole new console......crazy stupid

^^ like I said... they are going for the casual nintendo crowd now... also I think it will take some time before a developer can make a full core game for something like kinect... but yeah I wish there was a cool shooter of RPG or something using it in a good way...
