Well I have waited a very long time to play this game and I must say it didn’t disappoint. First I feel I must correct something many reviews have done. Because the game has Tomb Raider elements and story line it is often compared to Tomb Raider. There are similarities in many areas but the game play is much more like Gears of War with a dash of Tomb Raider. This game is mostly a 3rd person shooter.

Now story wise you should ask yourself this question “do I like Indiana Jones?” if the answer is yes you will love this game. The game story falls under the Indiana Jones umbrella with the likes of National Treasure and The Mummy. That’s right your on the search for an epic treasure and are racing against advisories to get there first, and for some reason despite being a bit of a scoundrel your character always tries to take the moral high ground. Now just because its been done before doesn’t mean it 2nd rate the story is top notch and has great voice acting. The character animation only adds to this as it is excellently done as well.

I love the graphics in this game they lean a little less towards real and more towards what I will call Pixar colorful. Meaning everything is a over saturated but looks great. The aliasing can get bad but over all this game has some of the best graphics out there and best art design. I could go on but I think the images tell the story here.

The game play is really solid with a few minor problem. Mostly you can’t interrupt animation mid way to dodge or move. The gunplay parts are like Gears of War just a small step behind and the climbing parts are 10 times better then tomb raider because the camera system in the game works. All that said the following will run through your head at some point in the game “Where the f*** are all these pirates coming from?” There is a point where fighting the pirates starts to get redundant. Fortunately about the time you have had enough things shake up and change for the better.

This game was well worth the wait and is a must have if you are a PS3 owner (unless you hate Indiana Jones). The story is a great adventure ride and the game play is fun. I only wish it was a little more balanced with the gun fighting. Almost forgot to mention how great the camera work is in the game it moves seamlessly from you playing to cut scene you won’t even notice.
