I got a PS3 too!

I really did it was a bit impulsive but whatever. I got the PS3 Slim + 4 games

Metal gear solid 4
Uncharted
Ratchet and Clank future tools
folklore

all for $350 which made me happy. (traded in monkey ball, red steel, obscure, need for speed carbon, pro street)

I have been playing uncharted and am about 3/4 the way through. The game is awesome, super cool though one has to question the number of pirates you fight as it is much more like an army. Matter of fact the gameplay has more in common with gears of war then tomb raider as for as time doing task. Also i can say for sure that while Uncharted has the coolest looking scenes the order of realism for jungle scenes goes as follows.

Crysis
Tomb Raider: UnderWorld
Uncharted

I haven't played MGS4 or bought Killzone but I am starting to see just how negligible the graphic differences are between 360 and ps3. Seriously its like the difference between iTunes quality and CD quality, only more subjective.

Last thing no PS2 support = EPIC FAIL, I'm sorry but I should be able to sell my ps2 and upgrade not have to keep it so I can play shadow of the collussus. Just think next gen if sony doesn't go with a cell architecture again PS4 won't play PS3 games.

Thanks, I am finding Uncharted to be quite addictive and my wife has really gotten into folklore. Anyways I still have to setup my psn stuff, but when i do I will add you all.
