Who's to blame?
A woman's husband has been away for three months. Their house is located in one of two villages, separated by a river and connected by a single bridge. The woman has been having an affair with another man that lives in the other village. One day the woman receives news that her husband is returning home and she urgently needs to get back to her home. When she reaches the bridge however, a soldier is positioned at its entrance and exclaims; "Stop I have orders to shoot anyone who attempts to cross this bridge". Beneath the bridge is a ferryman who offers to take the woman across the (piranha infested) river for a quijillion pounds/dollars/francs. The woman returns to her lover and begs for the money but is refused. The woman then attempts to cross the bridge and is shot dead by the soldier.

Now... who caused the death of this woman?

Re: Who's to blame?
It's obvious that the one who's to blame is pichu. If he hadn't posted this, we wouldn't know of a dead woman, thus pichu is the responsible that we have to blame something. GET HIM!

I blame the guard for doing his job. He should be nice instead of obeying the law...........

Re: Who's to blame?
obviously it is with the woman for the first bad act of cheating.... Next would fall to her lover, but he might not have had the money or it was spoken for or something... The other 2, the husband and the guard are simply doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Maybe.
I blame everyone!
The husband - Leaving her wife, after all, he vowed to stay with her wife forever and ever. ( since soldiers is mentioned, I think it's war or something. )
The wife - cheating on him... or maybe she just have needs? 3 months without someone you love could get lonesome.
The lover - Either not paying or maybe not seeing the wedding ring in her finger. Course he might not have been informed.
The boat guy - charging the prices too high, But Money corrupts and since the bridge is closed and he has an opportunity to make a quick profit, then who could blame him?
The soldiers - They do what they're suppose to do or else they would suffer from a higher authorities.
of course , above all I blame -

Everyone is responsible for their own actions she was told the consequences and she did it anyways.

Well, the woman never existed until pichu told us about her, so pichu is responsible of her ultimate fate.
(Ok, she is responsable, well she and pichu, ok just pichu...)

Well shooting the woman was the action of the soldier... sure it was his job but just because you are paid to do something doesn´t mean you are not responsible... if I paid you to kill someone and you did it you would still be a murderer and responsible... I would be too but you don´t just get to be free of all responsibility... it doesn´t matter if you are a soldier or not... your action, your responsibility...

I agree morally your right. But the geneva convention c protects soliders obeying order and they are not responsable.
Also here is one for you I tell you if you walk off the edge of a cliff you will die and you do it who's fault is it. The girl knew what the reaction to her action would be.
Have you ever heard of suicide-by-police?

Re: Who's to blame?
^^ No I haven´t... and the cliff situation is entirely different... the cliff is a force of nature... if you say don´t walk on my lawn or I will shoot you and I do walk on your lawn then yes, I know there is a good chance you will shoot me... but you are making the decision to shoot me so you are responsible... even if its your lawn and you warned me... the geneva convention might save the soldier from the law but in the end he is the one pulling the trigger and is morally responsible...
Now here is one for you... you go to a restaurant... you order a meal from the menu... but when you get the check its more expensive then what you read on the menu... it turns out that some customer before you had tampered with the menu and reduced the price... do you have to pay the extra cost or does the restaurant have to ???

Re: Who's to blame?
Well any self respecting restraunt would discount it, and if it was enough to sue over probably any jury would rule that you didn't have to pay full price.
That said the reality is it should be left up to the restraunt because if this happens 10 times a week then obviously they're being conned, and the officer would make you pay the check, then the jury would find you not guilty if you didn't.

Re: Who's to blame?
The soldier had no way to know what the woman was up to, and seeing that there was a soldier in the bridge ordered to shoot anyone, you can presume they were in a time of war, so preserving the security was more important. And if a woman who cheated her husband was trying to get back to him before he got home and don't let him discover, i wouldn't shoot her, but i wouldn't let her pass either.

Look this is simple she died because of the negative Karma points she gathered by cheating on her husband.
