PETA wants to rename fish to "Sea Kittens"

PETA has a new project – rebranding fish as “sea kittens” in an effort to end fishing and the consumption of fish as food.

According to the organization’s Web site, fish feel both pain and affection. The campaign, called “Save the Sea Kittens,” is targeted at children with cartoon illustrations. It attempts to humanize fish with claims that fish enjoy being petted and have the ability to communicate with each another.

The site includes a petition to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service asking officials to "stop promoting the hunting of sea kittens." Anyone who agrees with PETA’s philosophy can purchase “Save the Sea Kitten” T-shirts and other branded merchandise on the site.

PETA is famous for controversial activism, including the "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" advertising campaign and several well-publicized attacks that involved throwing red paint on people clad in fur coats.

I take this stance

If god did not want us to eat animals or if you like, there is not a deity but just happenings and evolution

1—they would not taste so good

2-our bodies would not have been made to absorb nutrients from them

3—our bodies would not have developed teeth designed for tearing flesh and bone

4—we would not have developed the ability and skills needed to hunt and eat meat before we developed the skills to farm and grow

Wow. I thought that it was safe to eat fish without being looked at like a heathen. Pork, red meat, poultry, and now fish. What's next, pea pods? Sea kittens taste great. So do sea dogs. Take that PETA. Now I'm going to go back to my eating as many meats as possible diet.
