what more can I say?

Elite Beat Agents - DS - Review 933052_75616_front

This is one of the many songs that’s included in with Elite beat Agents. A game that’s 50% Music, 50% Skill, and 100% Fun.

You start out with having to choose two difficulties, a 1-star difficulty or a 2-star difficulty. Usually it would be the best idea to choose the first difficulty but if you’re one of those hardcore people I see you would choose the 2-star one. But it you’re a beginner at this and if you’ve never saw this game or even played this game before then you will lose and you will ask yourself, “why did I choose this difficulty?” well anyways after what path you have chosen the very first song that you’re suppose to accomplish is walkie talkie man.

It starts out with a story in a comic book style storyboard. Soon after the story then they will have a problem that is difficult to find a solution to and they yell “HEEELP” and the dancing agents known as the Elite Beat Agents will come to their aid and help them on whatever the predicament. There's lots of humor in the game. They dance with the beat of the music on the bottom screen while coincidentally on the top screen there will be some kind of animation going on and it will either be the one needing help doing good or bad according if you’re doing very well on your gameplay. THIS IS ONE PART WHERE YOU MUST GET USED TO CAUSE IT GETS TEMPTING TO WANTING TO WATCH THE TOP SCREEN WHILE YOU’RE PERFORMING ON THE BOTTOM SCREEN.

Elite Beat Agents - DS - Review Eba-02

Speaking of gameplay, Elite Beat Agents has a type of gameplay that is required much skill, and you might need lots of practice in order to achieve a stage. Two Circles appears in the touch screen ranging in numbers and you must hit the circle when the outer circle overlaps the inner circle. Then you do this to the other circles in 1, 2, 3 order (or more numbers if there’s more numbers). This requires music for you to do well; you must listen to the beat of the music to tap the circle correctly. At first it might be a difficult thing to do but after you get used to it, the game becomes more and more fun to finish as the stages get more difficult and there are more circles to tap. From an easy tap tap tap to tap tappity taptap.

As for the music the track listening goes –
1. Steriogram - "Walkie Talkie Man"
2. Sum 41 - "Makes No Difference"
3. Avril Lavigne - "Sk8er Boi"
4. Freddie Mercury/Queen - "I Was Born to Love You
5. Stray Cats - "Rock This Town"
6. Deep Purple - "Highway Star"
7. Village People - "Y.M.C.A."
8. Earth, Wind and Fire - "September"
9. Jamiroquai - "Canned Heat"
10. Madonna - "Material Girl"
11. Ashlee Simpson - "La La”
12. Chicago - "You're the Inspiration"
13. David Bowie - "Let's Dance"
14. Good Charlotte - "The Anthem"
15. Hoobastank - "Without a Fight"
16. The Rolling Stones - "Jumpin' Jack Flash"

Some of these songs have been edited for time and tapping to the beat edits but some may sound like the real thing. The quality of the sound is a little tweak on account of the DS little tiny speakers but if you do play make sure it’s in a quiet place and not in a loud place. Or you might want to try headphones to go with that, anything that will make you listen to the music will make you win.

The controls of the game seems to work just fine, but if you have sweaty palms or if you have some kind of arthritis or something that affects the knuckles and the joints, you might have a problem holding the stylus perfectly, you might just drop it or no longer play at all and it messes the game for you. You can’t press pause in the middle of the song. It’s not like guitar hero where when you pause it, it goes back and lets you replay and start again from where you left off. No, EBA isn’t like that and that could be counted as one of the flaws of this game, but nonetheless the epic gameplay seems to cover it all up. And this goes the sane for going to practice a particular part of a song, you can’t do that.

Multiplayer wise
This game supports for both multi and single cart gameplay. But the single cart has a lot of limit to it. One of those limits is not being able to pick the harder difficulty and the other half of the song selection, but multi gets you all that and you battle for who’s the more faster one according to your reflexes and accuracy.

Replay Value -
very high especially when you're trying to finish all of the stages and unlocking the secret stages.

Conclusions –
If you are looking for a game that will keep your adrenaline pumping and listening to music at the same time then this might be the game for you. But if you can’t stand listening to the DS small speakers or listening to a headphone or maybe just hate music and fast gameplay then maybe not. Overall this game gets very exciting when you get used to it.

As for a final score I would go with 9/10 ( yeah, it's that good. ^_^)

I've heard this is a must own game....but then again....I'm not much of a DSer. I own two...but haven't really gotten into it that much. Makes my hand go numb holding the stylus.
