Well we haven't really been that close, so I didn't know he mentioned that, but I always had the impression that he was some sort of "Otaku" or to a lesser extent a big RPG fan so I kinda assumed he'd be somewhat asian or white.
Plus I usually associate physical appearances with the avatar...

I still do not comprehend while people seem to always do this, associating avatars with how the person really looks is ludicrous and should be put to a halt, who's with me.

Btw, does that mean that I still look like Mario to you or Lelouch?

It's not difficult to understand why. A lot of people choose avatars because they like the character, and usually they like the character because they feel represented by him. One of the way you can feel represented is when he looks a bit like you. That may be one of the reasons I like Riou, maybe because physically we look somewhat alike (accounting that I'm a real life person and he's the protagonist of a 2D sprite-based 10 year old game)

Haha, I'm conscious of it, and is actually giving a conscious effort to stop it, but until you provide pics then I'll always associate you with your avatar.
And yeah I still see you as Mario, the name makes it stick.

Personally though, I think it's because the avatar's purpose is to represent you as a person, so people you talk with associate you with your avatar.

Even luin I've always associated with caster, and now recently Rei.
I wasn't able to do it when she had Rin as an avatar though.

Well, I have brown hair, a similar haircut (a bit shorter), and I'm handsome. Maybe I'm not too far of him. Though, I have brown eyes, not green
