Fable 2 (short review as requested by Don)

Fable 2 is the sequel to Fable which was released in 2004, Fable 2 plays 500 years after the first in the same universe. Much has changes in the past 500 years, gunpowder was invented, magic has almost been forgotten and the world (Albion) has grown much bigger and more complex... without losing the charm and simplicity of the first part.

In Fable 2 you can chose to be a male of female character, much like in Fable 1 you chose who your character is, but in Fable 2 your choices are much more differentiated, you don´t just chose between good and evil but between pure and impure, funny and scary, pretty and ugly, generous and greedy... Much like the first part you start you adventure in your childhood which works great as both a tutorial and a foundation for you character. Actions in your childhood will form the world you live in as a grown up, help a town guard to find missing warrants and he gets promoted and keeps the city clean, if you don´t the city is overrun by thieves by the time your grown up... these choices that change the face of Albion continue throughout your adventures adjusting the world to the choices you make. In addition to being an action RPG Fable 2 is also a world simulation and for the player a huge playground with unlimited possibilities to influence the country and its people.

The story starts with your childhood and follows your live as and adventurer, be it a good one or bad one, a sword fighter, gunslinger or mage, a rich business man or beggar, a loving father and husband or cheating Casanova... Unlike many games Fable 2 doesn´t throw rocks in your way if you want to be evil, just like being good it has its up and its down sides. The story is well written and keeps the player interested in advancing further and further... which is not a easy task with so many possibilities to gamble, do jobs or side quests, found a family (or more) become as popular as a rock star or do just good old fashion adventuring... did I mention you have a dog ??? No ??? Your dog is your best friend in the game, he helps you dig up treasures, fight enemies, entertains villagers (chick magnet) and adjusts his personality and looks according to you. The dogs adds to the games great atmosphere and make the gameplay even less complicated.

The gamplay all in all is a great mix of RPG and adventure being challenging and simple at the same time offering a satisfying experience for gamers of all ages and experience levels. Players can specialize in melee fighting, ranged weapons and sorcery but can mix them up as much or as little as desired. Weapons, skills and clothing have been greatly expanded from the first and add to the high replay value the game offers. The graphics are beautiful and capture the deep atmosphere the game offers perfectly. Medieval castles, country villages, tranquil lakes, foggy swamps... all offer a unique style and atmosphere inviting the player to explore all the hidden secrets this wonderfully told fable has to offer.

Final Score:

9.4/10

Damn thats not really short... I told don it would be near impossible to do anything short about Fable 2... and I hardly scratched the surface... I didn´t even say anything about the story of how the social interaction works... I didn´t get to write about how the fighting system really works, I didn´t get to say anything about leveling... jobs and gambling... financials and economics... there is just to damn much to write about in this game...

Hope I summed it up ok... any comments would be greatly appreciated...

My spanish translation

¿No?

Puntaje final
9.4/10

I did my best to use as neutral Spanish as I could, I even used "tú" instead of "vos". Feel free to change anything you want, DR. Any critic of the translation will be appreciated

Thanx for the fast translation and proof reading Zexen, I changed my screw up in the last paragraph to: "Weapons, skills and clothing have been greatly expanded from the first..."

If there are any other issues let me know Smile

i give it a 6.5/10

liked

buying almost anything
unlimted magic
my dog
the clothing customization

did not care for

how easy it is to abuse teh system
really being only able to use low level spells in combat without having to wait for ever
even thou i am a beefy monsters still taking for ever to kill most bad guys
the general story
the game pace

in general fable 1 was a great game that was fun and funny, this time not so much for me, i felt like the game made me work instead of play and since i was using it as an escape from lifes work doing it in a game ...not so much

i mean i still beat it just to say i have, but near the end there it was like pulling teeth
