DS, DSi or 3DS?

I've been wondering this for a while, and I figured more opinions wouldn't hurt.

So, my niece broke my DS. My sister said she will buy me a new one in the future.

Now, I figured, why not take this opportunity to upgrade it? I can just get the same DS light as before, pay extra for a DSi and get all the new stuff that comes for it. Or, REALLY save up some cash so we can buy a 3DS later on.

I kinda just want it to play my DS games, but the problem with the 3DS, is that I fear it will have those little annoying black bars on the side because the screen is so much wider. I really hate those. It's what stopped me from playing GAB games on my DS.

Will that happen with the 3DS?

I'm kinda leaning for a DSi, 'cause in reality the DS is pretty boring.

your missing the obvious choice... get a PSP Go
JK... wait for the 3DS... gotta be a little patient not and might have to cover up the black bars with stickers... but once it gets good games you couldn't play on the DS it'll be worth it...

Yeah i am gonna have to say the 3DS as well. Of course we don't know the actual cost of it yet, so ... save up!

But the 3DS offers more than a camera and DSiWare... pick up a gently used DS from a locally owned used game store if you don't like the black bars later....

One more thing: My uncles a Trucker, right? For this Winter break he said he'd let me tag along in his truck to Florida. I wanna drive the 18-wheeler.

Waiting for the 3DS won't work very well if you need it by winter break. lol Also, who goes to Florida for Winter. You will never see any snow that way.
